Featured maker: The Travelling Bookbinder
A maker of stunningly beautiful, inky patterned, raw edged books.
Seek to Make is an exploration of creativity and making. Each month, I share a monthly theme around making, showcase inspiring makers, share tips, tools and encouragement. Together let's get curious and immerse ourselves in the art of making!
OCTOBER: NOTEBOOKS
Hello makers,
Today’s featured maker is Rachel Hazell, also known as The Travelling Bookbinder. She calls Edinburgh and the small Hebridean island of Iona, home and is a teacher, author, traveller, and of course a maker of books.
Rachel has written a stunning book titled “Bound: 15 Beautiful Bookbinding Projects”, which has projects for all levels of bookbinding including making a concertina book with pockets!
Rachel also has some tutorials and lots of amazing reference material on her website so I highly recommend checking it out. But for now, here are some beautiful images of her work, enjoy.
If you have any great bookbinding books you’ve come across so far, share them below!
Happy making,
Esta
