Seek to Make is an exploration of creativity and making. Each month, I share a monthly theme around making, showcase inspiring makers, share tips, tools and encouragement. Together let's get curious and immerse ourselves in the art of making!
OCTOBER: NOTEBOOKS
Hello makers,
Our last featured maker for the month of notebook making is Noela Mills, a mixed media artist from Australia. She has made a series of beautiful books from almost anything - teabags, rag paper, kimono silks, driftwood, and denim pockets just to name a few of her materials! Check out some of her stunning work at wabisabiart.blogspot.com.
I love how she really experiments with materials and is not afraid to go outside the box with her ideas. She shows how any materials can become an artful book. Now that is stretching those creative muscles!
Enjoy.
I love those ideas for making books using nature, fabric and slow stitching ideas. I have some little sashiko samples I could turn into little books. I have really enjoyed making my first little notebooks so thank you Esta for the inspiration.
