Thinking outside the boundary of a frame.
February: FRAME IT!
Hello makers,
I may have strayed from the brief with this post, but I just couldn’t resist! Iranian-born, Italy-based artist Golsa Golchini creates delightfully fun almost interactive-feeling pieces that are so full of life and character. Since this month is all about frames, I’d better make a connection—Golsa transforms old artworks into playful new scenes that quite literally spill out of their frames! In many of her pieces, the frame itself becomes part of the narrative, serving as a shelf, a seat, or even a wall within the artwork.
“My artworks are creations through different visual art’s languages. I love to combine all that I have ever learnt during my journey and to serve it on a silver plate to the observer. I truly believe that the highest purpose of Art is to be loved and my everyday mission is to make a type of Art that speaks a language that can be comprehended by everyone and that can conquer many eyes and hearts. I believe the era of “complicated” artworks has come to an end and our century is in true need of simplicity and joy.” - Golsa Golchini
I hope no one is offended by how she paints over other artworks, most of which would probably have gone to a landfill anyway! The joy she brings with her work makes it all worth it if you ask me :)
Enjoy.
