February: FRAME IT!
Hello makers,
How do you pick the right frame for your piece of art? What do you do when framing art feels so expensive? Well, illustrator and artist Bekah Worley has her own perfect solution—get secondhand frames and make them part of your art! (Actually I’m only assuming she uses secondhand frames?) But anyway, I’m in love with how she paints the canvas and the frame. Her frames are all so different and don’t feel like they came from a standard framing shop. They feel special, like they have been picked first for a sports team, not last.
And then there is her use of vibrant colours, super graphic and bold images and a feeling like her work is spilling out, like it’s so good it can’t be contained any longer.
I just love them!
Today’s the last day of the summer school holidays, so I’m hoping to have a little more time for making in the coming months (well until April when we have two kids birthdays, Easter and the next set of school holidays!).
Happy making everyone,
Esta
Oh I love those painted frames! It's such a cool idea and something fun to do with the kiddies. They would love sourcing their frames from the second hand shops. I also love the vibrant colours and designs of Bekah's work.
I loved the painting just spilling over onto the frames.
